Product Description

Floor Primer, is a special water-based lacquer for the priming of wood. Floor Prime dries quickly and is very easy to sand. It is recommended to use Floor Primer for the first treatment of new or recently sanded floors, panels, cork etc. At the same time Floor Primer is a strong lacquer for basic treatment of wood before the wood is treated with other water-based ISO SEAL Wood Floor Lacquers. May also be used for wood species like oak which contain a higher amount of tannin.

Area of Application

Floor Primer may be used for the priming of new and untreated as well as previously finished wood surfaces which must be thoroughly vacuum-cleaned and free from dirt, grease, oils, and similar residues. Floor-Primer may be  used undiluted and may be applied with a brush or lacquer roller. Leave Floor Primer to dry for approx. 30 minutes. Subsequently an intermediate sanding is made before another coat of the very strong ISO SEAL Floor Lacquers is applied. It is recommended always to make a small test to check the compatibility between lacquer and surface.

How to do :

1. Floor-Primer is suitable for priming new and untreated wood surfaces indoors. It should always be stirred well before use. The surface to be primed must be clean and free from dust, oil, wax, grease and other residues. If necessary, clean surface with Wood Cleaner mixture 1:10 – leave to dry and sand to grit 100 before application.
2. Floor-Primer should be used undiluted and is easy to apply with a brush or 12 mm paint roller. It takes 30-60 minutes to dry depending on the humidity and temperature. If primed with Floor-Primer Natural, the floor should be lightly sanded with grit 100, 120 or sanding pad before any of the Protego floor Lacquers are applied. It is always advisable to do a test application to check that the product is compatible with the material to be primed. If Floor Primer, White og Grey is applied, no intermediate sanding is done. (This is done after the first top coat).
