Exclusive Oil

PROGTEGO Exclusive Oil is formulated on the latest technology in the market of water based coating components and it is available in a wide range of colours. The PROTEGO Exclusive Oil is used both for basic finishing and later rejuvenation of all exterior wood. The Exclusive Oil offers a large number of advantages which has been ensured through the formulation of the product. The special oil components ensure a long lasting hard wearing finish. Built in components guarantee UV protection and a water repellent coating. Protection against the damaging uv rays of the sun is important for non deterioration of the oil and the wood itself.

How to do :

1. Treat new decking timber with oil before use. Clean thoroughly before starting the treatment. For old decks, clean before treatment using Decking Cleaner, then let the wood dry for approximately 24 hours. Make sure the wood is completely clean and dry. Sand down any wood fi bres with fi ne sandpaper. Perform the treatment in dry weather only. Avoid direct sunlight and high temperatures. Stir the oil thoroughly before use. Apply an even thin coat of oil with a brush. Treat the end grain wood first. The oil is cream-coloured when it is wet. After a few minutes, the wood has an oily appearance as the water has to evaporate.. Treat the cross-cut ends first.
2. Wipe off any excess oil with clean cotton cloths after no more than 5 minutes. Take particular care to remove excess oil from joints and grooves. If the surface does not appear saturated with oil, repeat the treatment. When the wood is dry, it may be polished with a polishing pad or polishing machine to ensure an extra hard-wearing surface. It takes 24 to 48 hours for the oil to harden thoroughly, depending on weather conditions and outdoor temperature. The wood must not be exposed to water during this period.
